Sonoma County Bach Choir
Claudio Monteverdi was a musical giant at the cusp between the Renaissance and the Baroque. His virtuosic 1610 collection of music for the Vespers service includes large-scale psalm settings, instrumental pieces, and solos, duets and trios. We will perform Monteverdi's work in the context of an Annunciation Vespers, with chant passages unifying the polyphony. There will be cornetti and harpsichord in the orchestra along with strings and winds, the voices of the Sonoma County Bach Choir and an exciting lineup of soloists.
