In California, Jenny’s choirs have received much acclaim, earning Unanimous Superior ratings and Command Performances at choral festivals throughout the Bay Area. She is artistic director and conductor of Chantons, a teen college preparatory chorus that recently performed at Carnegie Hall. In addition, Jenny directs the choirs at Ursuline High School in Santa Rosa, is the music director at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Novato, and conducts the Sonoma State University Chorus. She is working towards the completion her doctoral degree in choral conducting and choral literature at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Jenny Bent
Jenny Bent obtained a Masters Degree in Choral Conducting, a Masters in Voice Performance, and a Bachelors Degree in Voice Performance, from Boston University. Jenny is widely known for her skills as a conductor and voice instructor. Ensembles she has conducted include the Boston University Repertory Chorus, the Boston University Women's Chorus and the University of Illinois University Chorus and Chamber Choir. Jenny has been the rehearsal assistant for such conductors as Robert Shaw, Ann Howard Jones, and Fred Stoltzfus. She also served on the voice faculty of the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
